Twelve Highly Effective Ways You Can Help KIDPOWER Help Others

1. Tell a friend (and another friend and another…).
Most people come to us through word of mouth. This means from YOU! If you feel that you or your loved ones have benefited from our services, your personal conversation will inspire others to take a class. Please tell the people in your life to give us a call.

2. Give a class as a present.
Safety, confidence and peace of mind make meaningful gifts for any occasion—birthday, graduation, holiday, or just because you want to let someone know that you care. It’s easy — most centers can process credit card number and all will accept checks for gift certificates in any amount.

3. Link to us.
Use our site as a resource. Link to the home page or to another that you prefer (such as the articles index or the KidPower page.) To link to the home page you can just copy and paste this text right from here...

We would like to recommend KIDPOWER TEENPOWER FULLPOWER International who provide positive and empowering personal safety and self defense training for all ages and abilities.

4. Donate to our scholarship fund.
To honor someone you care about. We will send a card and personal thank you for anyone you wish to honor. This will include stories about how people’s lives have been changed, thanks to gifts to our scholarship fund. DONATE NOW!

5. Have the organization you belong to sponsor a workshop.
It’s a rewarding way to make a difference. We will prepare you to present our program to the Board of Directors or leaders of your school group, place of worship, youth group, service club, or community organization. Remember that we work with people of all ages and abilities. Call our office for options and costs.

6. Organize a workshop yourself.
Set a date with us and we’ll make you a flyer. Reach out to your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers with this opportunity to take a workshop together. Find a place at your home, the local library, office, or a nearby community center. If you raise more fees than our break-even cost, you can apply any extra funds to allowing you or someone you choose to take the class for free, or to our scholarship fund.

7. Arrange for KIDPOWER to make a presentation at a special event.
We provide dynamic, inspirational, action-packed speakers for annual meetings, kick-off events, take-your-child-to-work days, and community meetings. Give a call for options and costs.

8. Introduce KIDPOWER to your service club.
Are you a member of Rotary, Soroptimists, Kiwanis, Omega Nu, Lions, or other service clubs? We are happy to arrange a presentation for your members because we know that they are community leaders who will help us in spreading the word and in considering us for funding.

9. Introduce KIDPOWER to your workplace-giving resources.
Does your company make donations to nonprofit groups? Do you conduct a workplace giving campaign? Is there a matching gift program for employees who volunteer or donate? Please give our office information about who to approach and how, so that we can submit a formal application. Your personal endorsement will make a huge difference in our credibility in seeking grants or donations at your place of work.

10. Designate KIDPOWER as a beneficiary.
In your will, life insurance, IRA, and retirement plan. In the USA, you can make a simple bequest to KIDPOWER by adding the following statement to your will: “I give $_________ (or the following assets) to KIDPOWER, a charitable tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization located at P.O. Box 606, Wilmette, IL  60091.   KIDPOWER’s nonprofit federal ID number is 91-2052441.”

If you designate
KIDPOWER as the beneficiary for your IRA or Retirement Plan, you may be able to reduce your inheritance taxes to your children while making a substantial donation. Please let us know by sending a copy or a note for our records. Thanks to the support of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, more complex bequests or trusts can also be arranged to support our services in any community. Please check with international centers or your lawyer on how to do this in your country.

11. Make a direct donation of cash or stock.
Remember that all donations are tax deductible. Stock donated to a nonprofit organization can be deducted from your income taxes at full market value while being exempt from capital gains tax. Call or write our office for further information.
