Customized for the needs of particular groups
We provide a wide variety of programs custom designed to meet the many unique needs of different groups, organizations and individuals.
Custom designed safety and protection classes for all — regardless of age or limitations. Participants have an opportunity to apply their strengths in a context that is safe, success based, and practical.
Classes serve people with special challenges such as impairment of vision, hearing, mobility, or cognition; history of assault or abuse; homelessness; or living in communities with high rates of violence. We also form partnerships with organizations serving those in high risk situations.

SENIORPOWER provides training to help elders learn to avoid being targeted as easy victims and how to handle confrontations effectively.
Workshops include both Everyday Safety skills and Emergency-Only Full-force Self Defense, providing safe practice and individual attention. Workshops are designed to be extremely physically safe and flexible to meet the varying needs of our participants.
People of all ages and abilities are welcome!

"I am 78 and in relatively good health. Regardless of age or physical limitations, no one should ever have to be a victim."
"I was brought up in a world where nice women didn't raise their voices. I used to have nightmares where I was being attacked and couldn't make a sound. I am glad to know that I can yell when I need to."
SPECIALPOWER
We form partnerships with organizations that serve people in high risk situations so that special programs can be developed to fit their particular needs.
Our workshops help people facing special challenges to their safety and confidence such as being blind or visually impaired; having mobility or strength problems; being deaf or hearing impaired; being elderly; surviving domestic violence or childhood sexual abuse; or coping with a developmental disability or mental illness.
Both Everyday Safety and Full Force workshops are available for children, teens, and adults.

"I lost my sight suddenly two years ago. Taking your workshop gave me back my belief in my own power. This is the first time since I went blind that I feel really good."
"I am 66 years old with a disability and I learned how to use my body to knock down an assailant. I am still very careful about where I go, but now I know that I can take care of myself.""Your program is without question the most effective self defense training our students have ever participated in....To help others have the confidence to move them in an urban--or any--environment without fear is a great gift."
- Patricia C. Williams, Director, Living skills Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired
"Our visually impaired and deaf children are at a higher risk in our society. The concepts, demonstrations, and awareness that you brought to these students and their parents will lessen these "at risk" situations."
- Sally Mills, Contra Costa County Special Education Program
